| Our Nursery
Each area of our day nursery is created specifically as a stimulating, enjoyable learning experience for children at different developmental stages. The Baby Unit enjoys the youngest of Cherubs, from the age of three months old. Here, a baby’s emerging awareness is nurtured and development encouraged with an ever changing choice of multi-sensorial toys, craft activities and constant caring attention. Toddling Cherubs also enjoy having lots of creative fun in the Toddler Room and Soft Play Room before moving up to the Nursery at the age of two.
The light and spacious Nursery rooms provide security and comfort from which the children can explore their expanding world further through a huge amount of Montessori and other didactic materials, creative messy play, role play, music, science, language and maths, to mention just a few! This gives them a lasting confidence, general ability and social skills that fuel their curiosity and awareness for when they move up again to the more advanced Montessori world at the age of three years.
The Montessori Rooms welcome older Cherubs with a fascinating range of activities to bring alive History, the Arts, Geography, Language, Maths, Science, French and more, with beautiful, tactile materials for children to choose from as they wish. The Art room (decorated by the children themselves) is a vibrant home to all indoor creative messy play activities. The Library provides a small people’s oasis of calm, with a wonderful selection of books, Montessori activities, puzzles and music to suit every mood and activity.
Our lovely garden has been created with a safety play area, climbing frame and all-weather surface. Mature trees, textured surfaces and specially planned flowerbeds provide plenty of gardening and physical play opportunities, in addition to a wet and messy play area, sandpit, trampoline, little cottage, tent, tunnels, slides and other exciting features!
