Policies & Procedures

All our policies & procedures are available to our parents, please just ask a member of staff. On this page we will publish any important policies which affect parents for ease of reference:

Flu Pandemic – Emergency Planning Policy

In line with the guidance from the Department for Education and Skills (see enclosed booklet) we will adhere to the following actions for prevention and in the eventuality of closure.

  • Take hygiene measures to reduce the risk of infection by

    1. Washing hands regularly with soap and water
    2. Using tissues when coughing, sneezing, etc
    3. Disposing of tissues properly and instantly
    4. Regularly cleaning hard surfaces with a general cleaner

  • Ensure we have up to date contact details of all parents and staff
  • Ensure we can remain open, if appropriate
  • Ensure staff are sent home if they present signs of infection
  • Ensure children are kept separate from the other children and are sent home if they present signs of infection

We will liaise with the Local Health Authority and Health Protection Agency in the eventuality that an influenza outbreak occurs in Medway.  We will take into consideration any advice they give us.

In the event that an attending child/adult presents with the influenza strain we will inform the Local Health Authority.  If so advised, we will consider closing the Nursery for as long as the Local Health Authority deems necessary.

When we re-open we will also follow advice about any special conditions, if they should apply.
